Spider-Man Reboot Gets Title: The Amazing Spider-Man

Posted 02.14.11 by reelz

Fellow Spider-Man fans, we have a title! Sony announced today that the upcoming reboot will be called The Amazing Spider-Man.
The movie is currently in production, which we all know from the leaked spy pics and videos, and being shot entirely in 3-D, according to a press release from the studio. The movie now has an official website, but aside from an awesome photo of Spidey, there isn't much there.
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield alongside Emma Stone as Peter Parker's high school girlfriend, Gwen Stacy; Rhys Ifans, who will play the villain of the movie, possibly Dr. Curt Connors, aka the Lizard; Denis Leary as Police Captain George Stacy, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben; and Sally Field as Aunt May.
The movie's being directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent, and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee, (who is also an executive producer) and Steve Ditko.
What do you think of the title? Is it a homage to the superhero's comic book origins or too campy for a movie coming out in 2012?

Well, being shot entirely in 3D is a plus!...I hope there would be a lot of action scenes eventhough they are still in high school, so we could appreciate more the 3D expeience...
